THE FOUNDATION OF UMASS' ONLY ALL-MALE A CAPPELLA GROUP
The Doo Wop Shop (a.k.a. "The Shop") began in 1993 when one of the founding members got a few of his singing friends together to serenade a special love interest. While they were singing, the other ladies in the dorm poured into the hallway to listen, and The Doo Wop Shop has been wooing hearts ever since.
All members have been or currently are students at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Although they come from a variety of backgrounds, they are united by a mutual love for music and performance. Over the past two decades, the Shop has developed into a contemporary collegiate a cappella group with a trademark blend of music and fun.
